Copyright & Takedown Policy
Effective November 4, 2026 · Provided by Alessandro Mori and the Innovative Studios team
iCast respects the rights of creators and rights holders. This policy explains how to notify us of content that infringes copyright or other rights, how creators can respond, and how we handle repeat infringers. It implements Article 16 of the EU Digital Services Act, Article 17 of Directive (EU) 2019/790 as transposed in Italy, and, for U.S. rights holders, the notice-and-takedown process of 17 U.S.C. § 512.
1. Submitting a takedown notice
Send your notice to admin.icast@gmail.com. To be processed, it must include:
- your full name, address, e-mail and phone number, and, if you act for someone else, the rights holder you represent;
- a description of the copyrighted work or other right you claim is infringed;
- the exact iCast URL(s) of the allegedly infringing content and, for videos, the timestamps;
- an explanation of why you believe the content is unlawful;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use isn't authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and complete and, where applicable, that you're authorised to act on the rights holder's behalf;
- your physical or electronic signature.
You can also report quickly from the flag button by choosing "Infringes my copyright". Notices for other legal issues (defamation, privacy, trademarks) can be sent to admin.icast@gmail.com with the same information.
2. What happens next
We confirm receipt, review the notice and, where it's valid, remove or disable access to the content. The uploader receives a statement of reasons with a copy or summary of the notice (your contact details may be shared with the uploader where necessary for them to respond). We tell you our decision and how you can contest it.
3. Counter-notifications
If your content was removed by mistake or you believe it's covered by an exception (for example quotation, criticism, review, caricature, parody or pastiche), you can contest the decision within six months as described in the Terms. Include the URL, your reasons, your contact details and a statement made in good faith. We may restore the content unless the claimant shows it has started legal proceedings.
4. Repeat infringers
Each valid copyright removal counts as a copyright strike. Accounts receiving three copyright strikes within 90 days are terminated. Strikes expire after 90 days.
5. Abuse of the process
Submitting notices you know to be false can make you liable for damages. We may suspend processing notices from senders who frequently submit manifestly unfounded notices.
